I went to a neighborhood event last night. Saw some friends I don’t see enough of. They mostly all asked me the same thing, have I been running. That means I’ve been labelled a runner. I love that. My friends think of me as a runner. Still. Today I’m in a different city. I’ll let you guess where by the photo.
Karen is with me of course. This is our annual trip to Victoria BC. First night in Seattle. We’re staying at the Paramount Hotel and had dinner at the Tidal+ seafood restaurant. I always look forward to running on the Dallas Street Trail with its views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, but I’m injured. Pain so bad in my right glute that I can barely move after running.

So, I’m no longer running. I have a PT appointment in a couple of weeks, because after this week-long trip, I have to travel for work. Runner down. Not great timing for the Boulder Marathon but there’s a part of me that’s impressed with myself for pushing my body to injury. It means I’ve been training hard. I’ll recover, perhaps learn something from this, and be ready in time for Boston next April.
