Running Steve Prefontaine’s Trail was first on my list of runs while in Eugene.  I got sidetracked by a little 4 mile turkey trot yesterday.  Chad and I were able to run 6 miles down here this morning.  The trail sits along the north side of the Willamette River, across from the University of Oregon campus.  If you don’t want to sound like a tourist, you say Willamette like, “will dammit”.

Pre’s Trail reminds me quite a bit of Town Lake in Austin.  Much more narrow and tree covered.  They run high school cross country races on it.  The middle leads right up to Autzen Stadium.  In fact, we’re returning in just a few minutes to attend the Oregon – Oregon State football game.  The fun never ends.
