Karen suggested we work the week in the mountains. Not all the restaurants were open, most of the leaves had fallen, but the rates were very affordable.

We drove up to Crested Butte and stayed in the resort area. This made the trails immediately available and we hiked each afternoon.

And I got in one mountain trail run where I discovered there is very little oxygen running uphill in Crested Butte.
