My driver picked me up in the Porsche a 5:30am this morning for a VIP experience at the 2026 Bolder Boulder 10K. We found great parking and jogged over to the race start with plenty of time to warm up.

The weather was so perfect that I was comfortable in my racing singlet. I warmed up well enough in the corral that my 7:53 first mile was fairly comfortable. It had me feeling a little oxygen debt, but my 2nd mile was faster, running up Folsom in 7:36, so that shows I didn’t go out too fast.

I slowed down to 7:48 for mile 3, which is really keeping a consistent pace and then I sped up on mile 4 to a 7:30 pace. I was running to plan with my second two miles faster than my first two.

I ran the last two miles to plan as well. I dropped to 7:12 for mile 5 and 7:22 for mile 6, giving me a strong negative split for the full 10K. My final time was 47:04 with a 7:35 pace.

I enjoyed a fruity ale with my driver in the stadium before heading home. I took second for my age, which is my best place ever in this 54,000 runner event. Time to start training for the Boulder Rez Marathon August 15th.
Way to go Ed !Sent from my iPhone
